Visit the Archaeological Reserve in Kalisz-Zawodzie, located on the site of an early medieval stronghold, one of the key centres in the formation of the Polish state. Explore reconstructed fortifications, wooden dwellings, and the remains of a Romanesque collegiate church. Underwater Archaeology – What Can Be Found Beneath the Surface?

We invite you to a lecture on underwater archaeology, led by an archaeologist from the Kalisz Museum. The talk will explore key aspects of underwater research, including field methodology, equipment used in underwater investigations, and the ways in which underwater archaeology can complement land-based archaeological work. Additionally, the lecturer will present basic diving gear and discuss the risks and challenges associated with conducting underwater research.
