A range of activities for school children will be provided including Heritage in School specialists, replica artefacts, story tellers and we will have professional archaeologists who are experts in prehistoric wetland archaeology on hand to explain what they do and to include creative activities for a younger audience. They will carve a replica of the Kilbeg figure, an Early Bronze Age humanlike figure found in Ballykean Bog, Co. Offaly. The original Kilbeg figure is dated to 1740–1531 BC

Schhols Day at the Heritage Council in Kilkenny
Schools children will meet experts from the Heritage Council's Heritage in Schools panel who will show replica artefacts, tell stories and engage children in heritage activities. There will also be an opportunity to meet archaeologsts making a Bronze Age wooden carving using replica bronze tools.
