The Heritage Council: archaeology day for schools
The Heritage Council, Áras na hOidhreachta, Church Lane, Kilkenny, R95 X264To celebrate European Archaeology Days the Heritage Council will hold an archaeology day for schools at its headquarters in Kilkenny on Friday 16th June. Local schools are invited to come along and find out about archaeological heritage with Heritage in Schools Specialists Frankie Callaghan and Dave Swift.
Frankie will help students get hands-on with prehistory and explore archaeology as she brings the past to life by investigating the lives of ‘Children in the Past’ through artefact handling and living history. Irish archaeology is animated for children with Dave, as they experience an engaging demonstration on domestic and military life. Dave will turn the Heritage Council’s garden into an outdoor museum.
